Port Aransas Mako Shark
Byron’s 282lb Mako Shark caught off the Port Aransas coast on a deep-sea fishing trip chartered by Port Aransas Fisherman’s Wharf captain Jake Alkire.
On a 56-hour fishing charter while deep sea fishing in Port Aransas, Byron Noles caught a 282lb Mako Shark! With the average weights of these sharks typically ranging from 132–298 lbs, Byron certainly caught a massive one! They also aren’t an easy catch in the deep sea, with their maneuvers and speed putting up a hard fight. This offshore fishing trip was chartered by Port Aransas Fisherman’s Wharf with Captain Jake Alkire.
Also, hats off to Byron! He donated half of the meat from his deep-sea adventure to the crew and other anglers on the Scat Cat. We thank this fine angler for allowing us to break bread (or meat, in this case) with him!
